RODIN, is a project of the French National Research Agency (ANR), starting in January 2017 for 4 years.

This project aims at understanding the ROle of DIscoNnections in grain-boundary-based plasticity (RODIN). Despite its implication in many fields of metallurgy and materials science, grain boundary (GB)-based plasticity is still poorly known today, and the goal of this project is to make some significant progress on its fundamental understanding. Considering the complexity of the mechanisms, aluminium is chosen as a model material to perform both experiments and simulations.
